I haven't really used this journal for such a long time. I've been so busy and honestly, I forgot I even had it.

Tomoko and I went out and spent time together yesterday for Mother's Day. We had a fun day just doing things like shopping and seeing a movie.
I'm glad that even though she's 14 now, she still doesn't mind spending time with me and we still enjoy doing things like this when we both get the time.

I'll definitely miss having her around during the weekdays when she joins the island Duel Academy in full from October.

comments

Tomoko decided to be honest with me last week over what's been happening with her. It seems like her powers have increased, something I'd honestly not expected since it's really only stayed as the sort of empathic stuff she could do. I thought that was the extent of it, but I guess not.

I took her to the Arcadia Movement to get tested again but... it seems like they're in some kind of financial trouble and have been for a while. They actually told me they will be closing by the end of the month. They no longer have the ability to test those who have psychic powers any more so they couldn't test Tomoko at all.
I was able to talk to someone there at least to get an opinion on what was going on with my daughter and they told me it did seem to be a growth in her powers due to the onset of puberty, which are showing through as a psychic healing ability, as well as a growth in her empathic abilities. They felt that she not only picks up on other's feelings, but also now takes those feelings on as her own, which explains why she's been unpredictable with her emotions.
They told me it's good that her psychic ability has shown through as the ability to heal, but that she really needs to be careful with her emotions when dueling now... it seems they can no longer give out limiters or anything though so I'm not sure what to do.

Tomoko is worried that she'll accidentally hurt someone in a duel if she isn't able to have one and I'm worried about that too...
...she's not aggressive when she duels, she's usually more excited than anything, but with her taking on the emotions of other's around her now too, it's difficult to say how she'll act and she has no control over it...

comments

Filtered from Tomoko

Hmmn, there's been something off about Tomoko these last three weeks and I'm worried.

Not only has she been suddenly prone to mood swings that come out of the blue, she's come home from school every so often feeling incredibly tired to the point where she instantly falls asleep for a good few hours. She's even fallen asleep in a few of her classes from what I'm told.
I found that she's been in the school's nurses office a lot complaining of pains, but there has never been any injury or accident to explain it. It seems this happens on the days she's also extremely tired.
The nurses at the school have started questioning if she's just attention seeking, but she's not like that.

I finally took her to a doctor today, but they said she's perfectly healthy and they just assumed it is puberty hitting in a little early... but I don't think that's it. She's only 11.
It's just too strange to me. She's usually so energetic and happy. It's worrying seeing her so tired and unpredictably moody.

I know I'm asking a lot but, if anyone is around her, especially at school, could you keep an eye out for anything odd and let me know?

comments

Tomoko turned 11-years-old yesterday. It's amazing how fast time flies. She's going to be a teenager before I know it.
Thankfully she's not entered the stage yet where she wants to be more grown up, but I guess that time will come soon enough. For now, I'll just enjoy what I have left of that before the hormonal mood swings start setting in, in a year or twos time.

comments
