Description: Sayuri has quite deep purple eyes and shoulder-length, dark blue curly hair that always covered her ears. She has a small mole underneath her right eye and she also always wears a gold necklace around her neck that has a locket on it, inside the locket contains a picture of her husband. She looks almost nothing like her daughter, who looks more like her father.
Personality: Sayuri is a very quiet yet kind woman who is always a pleasure to talk too and can often be seen smiling, especially around her daughter. But although she comes off as a happy person, deep down she holds a lot of feelings of hurt and loneliness, due to her husband dieing only a year earlier. The two had been very close, considered each other soul mates, but once he died it left an empty spot in her life. Since then she's never been as close to anyone else. If her husband is mentioned, she tends to try and avoid talking about him, or change the subject quickly.
History:
Sayuri, a gentle and kind woman, had everything she wanted in life. A wonderful dedicated husband of six years and a beautiful young daughter. She worked part time as a helper in an Elementary school in Domino and her husband worked full time in the offices of Kaiba Corp. That was the life she had always wanted. Every spare minute they had, they dedicated to their only child, Tomoko, taking her for walks in the park ect.
Then, one night, her husband, Karou, was caught in a car accident while coming home late from work one night. He didn't survive the accident.
Sayuri was distraught as she watched her perfect life fall apart, only able to find the strength to keep going through her daughter. Although a little while after her husband died, she noticed Tomoko began talking to the cards her father gave her, as if she was having a full length conversation with them and she was only hearing one side of it. It worried her, but anyone she brought it up to just told her the same things. That it was normal for a girl Tomoko's age to create "imaginary friends", especially if she's trying to fill the gap left by her father not being there anymore. Sayuri wasn't sure, but took that explanation anyway, as it did make sense, it didn't stop her from worrying though, especially when her daughter started spending more and more time with these "imaginary friends" of hers, making her feel like her daughter was drifting away from her.

The family began to have money troubles, since Sayuri's job was only part-time and wouldn't cover all the bills. She spent a while desperately going from job to job to get more money, but eventually she had to give up the house she lived in with her daughter and get a smaller place. The smaller place she chooses, just so happens to be in the same apartment building that Juudai and co eventually move to. They move in not to long before Juudai does.
At the same time she also manages to get a job as an art and design teacher at the Duel College for teaching classes for those wishing to become designers of cards and other such things.

Sayuri hasn't been in a relationship with anyone else since her husband's death.
